Régie de l'eau

Pincourt’s water supply is managed by the Régie de l’eau.

Created in 1982 by government decree, the REIP is responsible for supplying drinking water to the municipalities of Notre-Dame-de-l’Île-Perrot, Pincourt and Terrasse-Vaudreuil. The town of L’Île-Perrot, for its part, has its own drinking water supply system.

Pincourt’s drinking water is drawn from the Ottawa River. After going through several different steps, the water is treated using chlorinated products.

Chlorinating drinking water reduces or eliminates microorganisms like bacteria and viruses. Adding chlorine to drinking water enables the Town to considerably reduce the risk of transmitting diseases through water.

To ensure the quality of our drinking water, our water filtration plant employees carry out weekly bacteriological analyses according to the specifications of the Ministère du Développement durable, de l’Environnement et de la Lutte contre les changements climatiques.

  • Boil water advisory

Because Pincourt’s drinking water is supplied by the REIP, the quality of our water is NOT affected if a boil water advisory is issued for L’Île-Perrot, Montreal or elsewhere in the MRC de Vaudreuil-Soulanges.

If a boil water advisory is issued for a portion of the town, only residents in that section will be so informed, by door-to-door notification. However, if the entire town is affected, the information will be released on all of its communication platforms.

  • How to contact the Régie
