Through a solidarity fund, participating employees of the Town of Pincourt are proud to have donated $ 1,000 to Moisson Sud-Ouest, which will help the victims of the 2017 flood in Vaudreuil-Soulanges.
In December 2016, the Town of Pincourt has created a solidarity fund within its employees to support organizations helping families in need during the holiday season. About 40 employees voluntarily agreed to contribute to this solidarity fund through a deduction from their salary.
Solidarity with 2017 Flood Victims
In spring 2017, the high water level affected Quebec, including the Vaudreuil-Soulanges region. The Town of Pincourt was able to avoid the worst by starting the construction of dykes on April 17th. Thanks to this preventive measure, more than thirty houses under watch have been saved and no evacuation was necessary.
However, neighboring municipalities were not as lucky. The majority of the employees decided to divert part of the money accumulated to help them, through the Moisson Sud-Ouest Fund, dedicated to flood victims in Vaudreuil-Soulanges.
Congratulations to the employees for this nice gesture!
