Modification - Draft Order Regarding Flood Zones

Special planning zone to promote better management of flood zones.

August 6, 2019
A ministerial draft to lift restrictions for certain territories within the perimeter of the Special Planning Zone (ZIS) was made public.

“In the wake of the analyses carried out by the Ministère des Affaires municipales et de l'Habitation (MAMH) and the Ministère de l'Environnement et de la Lutte contre les changements climatiques (MELCC), the territory of the Town of Pincourt has been removed from the ZIS. Consequently, no more Pincourt homes are located within the special intervention zone,” Pincourt Mayor Yvan Cardinal confirmed.

Highlights:
This Order aims to ensure the safety of people and property, promote rigorous flood zone management and impose a moratorium on the construction and reconstruction of buildings located on the land in question until the government develops and municipalities implement a new regulatory framework.

You will recall that to serve citizens’ interests, the Town of Pincourt prepared a brief and the Urban Planning Department successfully completed all the required documents by a tight deadline in order to exclude Pincourt homes from the ZIS.
